July 4th, our country's birthday, and look how far we've fallen.
Our economy is in the crapper,
Extreme right nutbags are taking over,
The government can't work together to make a simple agreement.
We celebrate the worthless,
Make the trivial important.
American Ingenuity use to make the world go round,
But no one has it any more.
The last good Idea to come from this country was to revolt from Britain.
Still wonder why our economy is so broken down even suicide looks like a good Idea?
Our country use to inspire revolutions,
And actually, it still does,
However, now all we do is protect the governments that give us oil,
Or give that country a new regime that will give us what we want cheaper.
And if the government doesn’t have anything we want,
We say “fuck ‘em.”
Now the “Tea Party” wants to change America back to what it once was,
But we’ve already passed the point of no return.
And judging from the remarks of their leaders,
They have absolutely no clue about the history of this country.
We put down attempts at basic human rights,
We deny groups in our society rights that even our “little brother” Canada allow,
The right to marry those we love regardless of gender.
What did my gay brothers and sisters and I do to deserve such hate from half of the country?
We call our president a Muslim, as if it were something wrong,
Just because his skin is black.
At least he’s trying to fix us,
Where as everyone else wants to stay the course of self-destruction.
And where are the days in which our government could make laws?
Well, it still can,
But every party wants so many flags in each to make their own agenda stronger.
Republicans want their Oil Barron Brothers and Billionaire Contributors to get so many tax cuts we’ll be broke,
While Democrats want to spend us into a debt well never be able to pay back.
People are being fired because they use their most basic of rights- free speech.
While I might not have agreed with Glenn Beck
(The crazy bastard child of FOX NEWS and a conspiracy theorist)
But at least he, unlike most of the people in this country who have forgotten how, spoke his mind.
And mustn’t forget about the Aflac duck guy,
Fired for one bad joke about Japan.
American Culture has made such stupid, slutty characters as Miley Cyrus popular,
We made the Ipad, a mac computer with less memory and no hard drive space, a top selling item.
We make products such as the “1 second needle,” “Snuggie,” and “Shake Weight,”
Seriously? Are we really trying to boast the economy with stuff so worthless ever china won’t buy them for raw materials?
And the Youth of this repugnant country don’t care,
We like our stuff cheap and are ok if it’s foreign,
We’ll just let people who have no clue what they’re doing destroy us,
And we’ll be ok with it as long as they keep up our supply of video games and fast food.
Considering all of this,
How could I be proud of America and my heritage?
I’m done bitching; call me when Canada invades,
That is if this country or myself is still here.
